Jim spent his whole life working in the restaurant and food service industry. He grew up working for his family at Detroit Sausage Company; makers of fine sausages since 1928. Jim has a long history of cooks in his family; you can say the urge to create and perfect texture and flavor combination runs in his blood. Jim spent several years of trial and error to find the best way to make pizza out of his home, and started to drive his family mad! He finally came up with a working product, and with the help of his partner Katie, 112 Pizzeria Bistro was born. If Jim didnít have access to all the food service items Eastern Market has to offer, his dream would have been harder to accomplish. Jim smartly utilized a lot of resources and slowly but surely put together a delicious menu. Going back to family roots, 112 is short for January 12th, Jimís eldest son Presleyís birthday.Everything at 112 Pizzeria Bistro is made from scratch, using only the best ingredients from Eastern Market. You are able to taste the freshness in every bite. Jim recommends first-time customers try something that features their slow-baked ham. Order the ëBugsy Siegelí, topped with garlic, mozzarella, havarti, slow-baked ham, cherry peppers, and fresh basil. If you are not a ham fan, try the ëSt. Aubiní, mozzarella, parmigiano, pepperoni, and house-made Italian sausage. Another homage to his family: St. Aubin is the street that Detroit Sausage Company resides. Aside from mouthwatering New York style pizza, 112 Pizzeria Bistro offers delicious salads and homemade pastas.
