A long standing history in Milwaukee, John Alioto first purchased a space for his restaurant in 1923 in the Third Ward ñ the old Italian district of Milwaukee. John purchased the space to ensure his two sons had jobs upon returning from World War II. After 15 years since opening the first Aliotoís, the city of Milwaukee bought the space to build the first high rise in Milwaukee, the Wisconsin Center. John Alioto then purchased a property in Wauwatosa, just West of Milwaukee, where his two sons and daughter worked. The famous Aliotoís is currently run by the third generation of family members. The family operated Aliotoís takes a lot of pride in their Sicilian-style cuisine, serving superb traditional Italian dishes. It is recommended to order anything that comes in Aliotoís homemade spaghetti sauce. The recipe has been kept the same for years, just as John Alioto would have served it decades ago. The breading recipe has been kept for years as well and used for Aliotoís chicken and pork dishes. The lounge at Aliotoís provides an excellent area and atmosphere for more casual dining and a banquet is available to reserve for large gatherings as well. The sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere of Aliotoís will instantly put guests at ease. Aliotoís welcomes you to come in, relax, and enjoy their classic Italian food.
