Bangkok 56, Harrisburg PA | Merchant Profile

One will not find a more authentic Thai restaurant then Bangkok 56, located at 1917 Paxton Street in Harrisburg. Manager Mimai, a native of Thailand, tells us the restaurant reminds her of home. She says, the eatery has stayed true to authentically preparing cuisine and has not Americanized dishes like so many other Thai restaurants. A recommended appetizer is the Cry of Tiger, grilled steak served with the restaurantís special sauce on the side. Entrees include Pad Gaprow, stir fried with hot peppers, onion, a touch of red peppers, and fresh basil. Also, Pad Prik Pao sauteed with red chili paste, veggies, and cashews. Both entrees come with your choice of: chicken, pork, beef, tofu or vegetables. The red curry with chicken and pineapple is a popular sweet and spicy combination. Desserts feature an authentic preparation of Tapioca made with coconut milk and Crispy Fried Banana with Ice Cream. The restaurant is BYOB and has a warm family atmosphere. The attentive servers will happily answer any questions. The pleasant decor is accented with elephants, the national animal of Thailand. Bangkok 56ís motto is, ìThe Best Thai Food in Pennsylvania.î
