Battleship Brewhouse is named for itís proximity to Battleship Cove. Battleship Cove is a maritime museum and war memorial in Fall River, Massachusetts featuring the world’s largest collection of World War II naval vessels. The restaurant is located at 101 President Avenue inFall River. Jamie the owner and chef of the Brewhouse was in the construction business when the economy crashed in 2008. He tells us there was absolutely no work for his shop, so he was forced into searching for another way to make a living. He presciently recognized the popularity of craft beers and decided to open Battleship Brewhouse. The restaurant features a rotating menu of over 40 draft beers and another 85 in bottles. Jamieís favorite part of the business is seeing people happy. The menu of Battleship Brewhouse is influenced by Jamieís willingness to experiment with flavors and styles. One of the most popular menu items is the Buffalo Wings with Dragon Sauce. The Dragon Sauce was originally conceived as as a cocktail sauce for use on a raw bar. People loved it and Jamie began using it as a wing sauce. Other popular items are the Pierogis and a house specialty, Cream over Buffalo: sauteed shrimp in garlic and oil served with baby spinach and chopped tomato covered in Buffalo Cream Sauce. The Portuguese Steak topped with a fried egg is a local favorite. Another popular dish is the Sam Adams Beer Battered Fish and Chips: seasoned beer battered haddock, fried golden brown, and served with French fries, tartar sauce, and coleslaw. The restaurant provides take out service as well. Battleship Brewhouse features probably the best selection of unique craft beers in the area. The menu is an eclectic mix of old favorites and creative new dishes. Check out their website and Facebook page for frequent special events.
