Nishal Sethi and his father used to work in Raleigh; they owned a franchise called Bombay Palace, then broke away from the chain and opened Bombay Grille. Their delicious Northern Indian cuisine was well liked in the area, and they were doing a lot of catering from Raleigh to Charlotte for weddings. Since they were constantly traveling back and forth, they ended up moving to Charlotte, ìEver since it has been crazy busy,î Nishal said with excitement. Bombay Grille offers a buffet seven days a week with rotating options. They usually have about three meat items and five to six vegetarian dishes to choose from. The Chicken Tikka Masala is one of the most loved dishes. Nishal takes great pride when hearing from out of town customers that his food is even better than where they are from. Their number one dish is an Indo-Chinese favorite, Gobhi Manchurian. Cauliflower tempura style cooked in a chili garlic sauce that tastes like chicken but is actually vegetarian! People just go crazy for it. The Lamb Chops are another favorite, marinated in a mint cilantro sauce and cooked in the clay oven, they just melt right off the bone and have an incredible taste. Bombay Grille is one of the exclusive or preferred caterer for many hotels in the area. They offer mostly buffet style for weddings. ìOver the 15 years I have been doing catering, I have only done three seated weddings,î Nishal said. People love the buffet style with Indian cuisine.
