Next time you are in Westland, Michigan, you have to check out Bray’s Hamburgers! This historic landmark of Westland has been serving up amazing cheeseburgers since the 1950s, dating back to when the original owners, brothers Gordon and Roy Bray, opened for business. In 2011, current Owners Alex and his wife, Lilly, took over Bray’s, but the menu, recipes, and even meat company has remained all the same. Current Owner Alex came to the United States from Albania when he was 14 years old and lived in New York, where he eventually met Lilly. From his teenage years until now, Alex has worked in restaurants and greatly enjoys the industry. Years later after moving to Michigan, Alex happened to stumble upon Bray’s and immediately loved their product. After speaking with the original owners, the rest is history and Alex and his family are thrilled to keep the tradition of Bray’s Hamburgers going. Of course, when you come to Bray’s you have to try the cheeseburgers and homemade chips. Bray’s specializes in their own brand of burgers – the meat is never frozen and the size is only a tad bigger than a slider. Try The Original, which is a double stacked cheeseburger with grilled onions and their special Thousand Island sauce. The only new addition to Bray’s menu is the 50’s Burger, which is slightly a bigger portion. The 50’s burger is prepared on a potato bun and topped with a homemade mayo sauce. Stop into Bray’s for breakfast, lunch, or dinner and experience a bit of Westland’s history. The ambiance is reminiscent of a 50’s diner with spacious booths and bar counter seating. Bray’s is a place of nostalgia revisited time and time again by all generations of the community. Come to Bray’s Hamburgers and you too will be coming back hungry for more!
