Before coming to America, Ryan Rehen worked for the airlines, traveling all over the world. At every location he visited, he tried their version of Indian cuisine. In 2001, Rehen came to the United States. He first tried his hand at owning a liquor store, but when the opportunity presented itself, Rehen opened his own restaurant. Rehen recognised there was a niche in America for fast Indian food bursting with flavor. Rehen started out small, at their first location Cafe India. Not knowing much about the restaurant industry, it was difficult for Ryan Rehen to find the perfect blend of recipes and employees. After a lot of patience and perseverance, Rehen developed a new way of running the business. Within three short years, Cafe India has become so popular, It inspired Rehen to open their second location. Cafe India Bar and Grill in Bayview is a fine dining restaurant, whereas Cafe India in Walkerís Point specializes in carry-out and delivery. Both locations are within a mile from each other, whether you need a quick bite to eat for lunch or want to have a comfortable sit down dinner. At Cafe India, the must try dish is the three time award winning chicken tikka masala. Some other customer favorites are the lamb vindaloo, chicken haryali and paneer tikka. While Cafe India does not serve beef or pork, the menu does contain many chicken, shrimp and lamb dishes, as well as plenty of vegetarian and vegan options.
