Cafe Via, in Birmingham, Michigan, was established in 2009. The building once housed a bakery, but was remodeled to create a unique and gorgeous restaurant. Pete, the general manager, went to Michigan State for Hospitality, and has been in the food industry since he was 14 years old. Pete started out working his way up a pizza chain, and after college worked at numerous upscale and fine-dining establishments. Pete explained that basically all of his work experience, besides landscaping, has been in the food industry. If he was not in the restaurant business, he claims he would be working on a golf course – he loves general greenskeeping as well as the game itself. The menu at Cafe Via was recently updated, offering many of the same adored selections along with few new options. In addition to these options, each day there is a Fresh Catch Feature and a Dinner Feature that offers unique and fresh fish options that are in season and a delicious protein feature, respectably. Cafe Via does their best to keep entree options different and new.As of now, Cafe Via is closed to the public Sundays and Mondays. During these days, Cafe Via will host private parties, offering buffet style service of hot and cold food, beer and wine, and even a dance floor on the patio with a live band.One might describe it as a house party in a ridiculously gorgeous home. One of the many striking aspects of Cafe Via is the patio that can be enjoyed year round. It does not matter if it is in the dead of winter or heat of summer – guests can still take pleasure in an equal level of comfort.
