Trevor Lewis was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Trevor has a wealth of knowledge in the restaurant and hospitality industries; he worked in hotels on the island and owned restaurants in the United States. Almost 11 years ago, Trevor moved to Charlotte and opened Caribbean Hut. Trevor opened a second location in Woodlawn in December of 2015.Most of the recipes Trevor uses at Caribbean Hut are dishes he grew up eating. The Oxtails extremely popular at Caribbean Hut. Oxtails are a Jamaican delicacy and a rare find in restaurants in the United States. The Jerk Chicken is always popular, along with Curry Goat! Trevor explained when he first came to Charlotte, goat was slow to catch on, but quickly people learned that it is very healthy and delicious, and is now one of their top sellers!Caribbean Hut serves beer and wine, including Red Stripe beer, a staple in Jamaica. Caribbean Hut also offers catering from 15 to 500 people! Trevorís goal is to ìBring Jamaica to Charlotte,î and his customers love him for it! When you come into the restaurant, you will feel like you are in Jamaica. Many people have told Trevor they have gone to Jamaica, come back to Charlotte and tell him Caribbean Hut is better!
