Chef Wes Choplin opened Choplinís Restaurant in 2009 with his wife Adrianne, and has South inspired cuisine. Choplin has been in the restaurant business since he was young and later went to culinary school in order to pursue his dream as a chef. Choplinís is considered a ìhome away from homeî and gives travelers and locals a place where they feel comfortable and at home while dining. At Choplinís, everything is fresh and they try to use local ingredients when possible. One of the most popular dishes at Choplinís are their fish, which are fresh from the coasts of North and South Carolina. A fan favorite is the Pan Seared Blackened Chilean Sea Bass where the pan drippings of fresh fish are served over tomato stew, sweet corn and collard greens. There is also the Fruit of the Sea pasta which is a combination of different seafood. The dinner menu at Choplinís changes every night but these two dishes can almost always be found on the menu. Choplinís lunch menu stays the same on most days besides its specials and has salads, sandwiches, wraps and burgers. They have daily specials called the ìSoul Warming Plateî in which the daily special is accompanied by two sides, an Iced Tea, and a biscuit. Often times customers are in a rush on their lunch breaks so Choplinís is very efficient in adhering to this. Choplinís has a full beer and wine bar and is moving towards having more liquors and making martinis in the future. Their bar is movable which makes it perfect for having parties in the banquet hall and for private catering events. The banquet room seats about 30 guests and usually overflows into the main dining room that can seat up to 75 guests. Choplinís caters to any size party regardless of the size. Most of the waitstaff at Choplinís has been there since the opening, therefore, adding to the comfortable feeling given off by Choplinís. This restaurant is a place where its customers leave feeling comfortable, happy and have full stomachs.
