Business partners Javier and Elida met when they worked together at a cafe. They both have extensive experience in the restaurant industry; Javier in the back of the house and Elida in the front. Elida saw the need for Cuban food in the neighborhood and found the perfect location for a restaurant. Since she always wanted to have her own business, she teamed up with Javier and hit the ground running. All of the recipes at Cohiba Cuban Cuisine are Javierís own recipes. The ëCohiba Philly Steakí Cuban sandwich is immensely popular; tender Philly steak, onions, red and green bell peppers, and cheese served on a roll. The ëFricase de Polloí is another customer favorite – perfectly marinated chicken served with potatoes in a tomato wine sauce.Cohiba Cuban Cuisine is currently BYOB but plan to have their liquor license by late spring 2016. For now, they make delicious mojito, margarita, and pina colada mixes – you just bring the alcohol! The pina colada is even served inside of a real pineapple! Cohiba Cuban Cuisine offers catering and has a second floor that can be rented out for parties. If you are craving great Cuban food in Chicago, check out Cohiba Cuban Cuisine!
