Avi Zarif is the owner of The Falafel House in Boynton Beach, Florida. Avi came to the United States from Israel in the late 1980s. Shortly after arriving in the states, Avi opened up a pita bakery, called Pita Pen. He was one of the largest distributors of pita in South Florida. The Pita Pen is still open today. Avi decided to open up The Falafel House, because he wanted to do more than Pita Pen and create a place to offer a variety of fresh, and healthy food. At his restaurant, Avi can still serve his fresh bakery items, and was also able to create an extensive menu of Mediterranean cuisine. Mediterranean and Israeli cuisine are the focus of The Falafel House. Everything on the menu is made in house and fresh. Mediterranean cuisine is largely healthy and vegetarian, with fresh veggies creating the bulk of many dishes, so people seeking out healthy options are in luck. Avi recommends the Knishes, which are the signature items of the menu. A knish is an Eastern European pastry, with a filling of cheese, vegetables, or meat. Other popular options are the shawarma, pita sandwiches, tabouli, and falafel. Reviewers love the freshness of the food and the clean and friendly atmosphere. The Falafel House offers dine in, take out, and catering services. If you are interested in having The Falafel House as part of your next party, check out the catering menu on their website.
