Mario has always been passionate about food, ever since he was able to help out his mom in the kitchen. Mario pursued a degree in Culinary Arts in Romania, and moved to the United States in 2000. Mario was an executive chef for many years at different restaurants. After one vacation, Mario fell in love with the food in New Orleans and decided to come back to Michigan and go into business for himself. On November 18th 2015, French Toast Bistro was born.French Toast Bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. This French/Cajun/Creole inspired bistro serves more than just french toast (but the ëBaked French Toastí with mixed berries, cream cheese and Michigan maple syrup is indeed delicious and a must-try for breakfast). For dinner, order the ëSimple Meatloafí; house-made meatloaf in an apple cider reduction with poached Michigan pears, three cheese (asiago, fontina, and white cheddar) mac & cheese and braised greens. Most of French Toast Bistroís dishes can be made gluten-free in their scratch kitchen. Mario aims to change the mentality of dining; he wants to create a restaurant that people come and spend time at – not just pop in, scarf down their food and hustle out. Mario invites you to come in for coffee, go through your email, read the morning paper, chat with your friends and enjoy yourself.
