Victor Santos runs Galito Restaurant in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, with his daughter Tanya. The name Galito means "little rooster." The family has 25 years in the restaurant industry and has owned Galito since 2001. Tanya studied at the renowned Johnson and Wales University. Victor has been in the states for 46 years. He came from Terceira, in the Azores, and has brought tastes of his culture to Pawtucket. Besides being a restaurant owner, Victor is also an artist. Some of his art is featured in the decor of the restaurant. In his restaurant, Victor values great service, by focusing on employee training and connecting with customers. A must try dish at Galito is the Alcatra, a Portuguese pot roast which cooks in a clay pot for hours, marinating to perfection. They will soon be adding lipids to the menu, which are clams in a half shell, attached to rock. Victor recommends the Azorean steak which is fried in garlic butter. Galito has several delicious seafood options including catfish dishes, cod, octopus, littlenecks, and more. Check out one of their buffets to try an authentic Portuguese boiled dinner. Galito is available for parties and events, and takes reservations. They can host small parties right now, but hope to expand in the future. They also do events of their own like live music on Saturdays. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week. They have a full bar. Check out Galito for top notch Portuguese cuisine and friendly service!
