Gogoís is located inside the Park Bar at 2040 Park Avenue in Detroit. Gogoís menu is available for order in the Park Bar. Chef Adam tells us the cuisine at Gogoís is inspired by the utilitarian food popular amongst the Hawaiian working class. The food is high in carbs, affordable, and filling. Gogoís hopes to use its menu as a bridge between working class Hawaii and working class Detroit. Every week the restaurant serves Poke, a Hawaiian style ceviche, made from only the freshest yellow fin tuna, salmon, and occasional other fresh options. Adam explains Gogoís is working with a fish supplier, possessing some of the most sophisticated logistical capabilities in the world, to deliver only the freshest product. To ensure freshness Poke is only offered Friday and Saturday.A popular starter at Gogoís is Musubi, with sushi rice, nori, and furikake, with Spam and egg or tempeh, and avocado. Another great choice is the Coney Fry, with french fries or fried tofu, topped with Spam or shiitake miso chili, with white onion and mustard. The Tiki Skewers are a must try, and can be made with grilled chicken or steak teriyaki with fries. The Plate Lunches at Gogoís are served with steamed white rice, macaroni salad, and a green salad. Chef Adam suggests the Loco Moco, a char grilled burger, served with mayonnaise, oxtail gravy, and a sunnyside egg. Other Plate lunch choices are the Garlic Shrimp Butter, Gulf shrimp in garlic sauce, and flat-iron Beef Teriyaki Steak with scallions. For dessert, try maple-vanilla bean or banana-coconut ice cream with house made toppings. The restaurant does take-out and catering. The Park Bar also serves many Hawaiian inspired specialty drinks like the Maui Mule. If you are interested in experiencing the food of the Hawaiian Islands in Detroit, stop in at Gogoís. The warm and welcoming staff will ensure you have a great dining experience.
