Reada, Joe, and Mike (Sully) are the owners of Gulf Stream Bar and Grille. The restaurant opened in May 2016. Chef Sully has been working in the restaurant business for 40 years and Joe and Reada for 15. The restaurant is located in a boatyard and is named because of their experience with the boating community and the Gulf Stream, a warm Atlantic Ocean current which runs along the Eastern coast of the United States. The tag line for Gulf Stream Bar and Grille is ìCoastal cooking with a New England Twist.î Reada wanted to bring some of her favorite Southern dishes to an area where they werenít as common. They get influence for their food ìeverywhere the Gulf Stream goes.î They offer signature dishes like alligator bites and Bermuda fish chowder. The New England twist on their menu makes them familiar to the locals who come in. One popular dish is a po boy which is made with local cod. New England clam chowder and fish and chips are also local favorites. Although they have to get some ingredients out of area, most of the produce used is local and organic. Gulf Stream Bar and Grille offers a full bar along with specialty cocktails. Reada recommends the house sangria, which is made with pineapple kiwi puree, rum, and choice of wine. They also offer a variety of craft beers and wines. Indoor and outdoor dining and bar areas are available along with a private room which can hold groups of a around 45 and can be booked for events. The views are not to be missed at this waterfront location, especially the sunsets. The vibe is casual and relaxed, and great for anyone, so come on in with the whole family!
