Huron Room owner Jacques has only been open for business two weeks in downtown Detroit. The owner of multiple restaurants in the Detroit area, Jacqueís Huron Room features a distinct menu of its own ñ specializing in seafood to set itself apart from the pack. This fantastic eatery and bar is Michigan-centric. All fish on the menu is brought in locally from the great lakes. All beer on tap is craft beer from local Michigan breweries as well. Before moving to Detroit in 2010, Jacques and his wife were living in San Diego ñ not working in the restaurant business. Pursuing a lifelong dream ñ too expensive to pursue in San Diego, Jacques and his wife opened a restaurant in a Detroit and have been profitable ever since. With finding great success in Michigan, Jacques expresses the importance of supporting and giving back to his local community. The restaurants donate food and sponsor local community theatre and choir groups. The restaurant specializes in fish, where each guest can select their fish of preference and way of preparation. An impressive selection, choose either: Ohio yellow perch, walleye, smelt, whitefish, river trout, or the catch of the day. Then, you choose how you would like it served. You can classically have it served as fish and chips, beer battered and fried. Or, try it on a sandwich, or tacos. Along with this fantastic option, several other sections of the menu focus on appetizers, skewers, and unique entrees. A perfect place to sip on a cocktail, beer, or wine, the extensive drink menu will have something for everyone. Whether you live in the Detroit area or are visiting from out of town, be sure to give Huron Room a try ñ it is sure to impress!
