The co-owner of the eight month old Indian Harbor Restaurant located at 1830 Cordova Road, Fort Lauderdale is Anil Kumar. Recently transplanted from Chicago, Anil has an abundance of experience owning and operating Indian eateries. Indian Harbor represents his passionate desire to build a restaurant ìhis wayî. Anil relates with a chuckle, "Most Indian restaurants are boring. Put some red carpet and slap yellow paint on the walls, add a few pictures and you’ve got a standard hole in the wall Indian Restaurant." Indian Harbor has a much different look, modernizing the presentation of authentic home-cooked Indian meals. The restaurant exudes a cosmopolitan vibe with a sleek nautical theme, emphasizing the locations proximity to the harbor.Thali is Indian for round platter. The restaurant has a very popular Thali Lunch Special consisting of a sampler of a variety of curries. It comes with bread, rice, dessert, and a choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian protein. Appetizers include a delicious Mixed Meat Sampler. Another popular dish is the Shrimp Dum Biryani featuring basmati rice cooked with jumbo shrimp, with dry Indian spices & herbs.
