Since 2012, Javonís Kitchen has been providing Detroit with great Southern food. Javonís Kitchen, owned and operated by Tasha and her husband, started as a fundraiser out of their house for their son. They would sell their popular ëFat Daddyí, a three-patty burger garnished with whatever you wanted, to nursing homes and grocery stores. Shortly the original owner of Javonís Kitchen heard about them and asked Tasha and her husband to come in the restaurant and see how they liked it, and they have been there ever since. Javonís Kitchen is a popular lunch spot. Currently, the restaurant is all carryout and catering, but they plan on opening a sit-down area in Spring 2016. Javonís Kitchen is famous for their large portions – their lunch includes three pieces of chicken with two sides and a choice of cornbread or wheat bread. Their ëFried Chickení is also very well known – a leg and a thigh for less than three dollars? You canít beat it! Javonís Kitchen’s homemade dressing is also highly popular. Tasha has been making her grandmotherís recipe since she was just four years old, and now makes a tub of it fresh every day. Tasha believes she is not just feeding stomachs, she is feeding souls. No matter how busy she is, she always takes the time to listen to her customers. Javonís Kitchen is her baby, and everyone who supports it is important to her and her husband.
