Kateís Thai Kitchen is a brand new restaurant in Chicago, Illinois that opened in early 2016. Kate Siwamutita is the owner who has single-handedly come up with the concept and design of the restaurant. She grew up in Bangkok, Thailand where her family owned a restaurant and then when coming to the US in 1994 her family began working in the food industry again. Through experience and drive, Kate decided to branch out on her own and create Kateís Thai Kitchen. Kateís serves authentic Thai cuisine made from fresh, high-quality ingredients. One of the most popular dishes from the menu is the Kao Mon Kai. It consists of steamed chicken that is soft and juicy and is served with homemade ginger, garlic, and bean sauce over garlic-ginger rice. The Chicken Masaman Curry is also a fan favorite and comes with chicken simmered in curry sauce with potatoes, white onions, and ground peanuts. For a delicious plate to share, the Grilled Pork with Sticky Rice is a great appetizer to try. The Thai style pork is marinated and grilled to perfection and is served with sticky rice and Kateís signature hot and sour chili sauce. The dÈcor and furnishings inside Kateís Thai Kitchen were all put up and organized by Kate herself. She used reclaimed woods to give the restaurant a rustic and warm atmosphere. The ambiance is inviting and relaxed and gives customers a taste of what Thailand feels like. The restaurant also offers catering for small groups, carryout, and delivery services if you donít have time to dine-in. The staff at Kateís works very hard to satisfy each and every customer to ensure they leave with a smile.
