Las Bugambilias is a restaurant located at 148 South Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The husband and wife team of Carlos Molina and Michelle Zimmerman own and operate the eatery. Carlos and Michelle are both long time hospitality industry veterans. Carlos received his formal culinary training in Cancun and Mexico City. He previously was the executive chef of another local area restaurant. Michelle has held a variety of positions in the industry. She makes desserts in the kitchen and does a few shifts a week waiting tables at Las Bugambilias. She loves interacting with customers and the sense of community generated by the regular diners. One of Michelleís favorites is the Chilaquiles Verdes, tortillas in salsa verde, served with shredded chicken, queso fresco, and crema mexicana accompanied with rice, beans, and avocado.Other popular items include the Ceviche De Camaron Sinaloa, which consists of shrimp marinated and cooked in fresh lime juice, served in a seafood tomato sauce, with diced cucumber, tomato, onion, jalapeÒo, avocado, and a touch of olive oil.
