Being the only authentic Kosher Georgian restaurant in Queens, Marani, and owner Ana Epremashvili welcomes an eclectic mix of diners. She especially enjoys engaging diners who are curious about how she constructed her well thought out Menu. She takes a special delight in watching people stretch their culinary comfort zones, becoming engaged and curious about the food maybe experiencing a new flavor or spice for the first time. Miraniís menu features expertly crafted Georgian delights. Start your meal with an order of Adjapsandali; Slow cooked eggplants, peppers, tomatoes and fresh herbs or Blinchiki; a Blintz rolled up with beef filling. Favorite dinner entrees include, Chakapuli, a delicious braised lamb with bones in tarragon, herbs, green tkemali and magic sauce. Try the Chanahi; beef braised with eggplants, pepper, potatoes, tomatoes and onions stew. The grill menu offers interesting choices including Lula kebab, a ground beef and lamb kebab and Chicken Breast Kebab. Sides include orders of Rice, Sauteed Vegetables and Jomi, a Georgian version of grits.Be sure to leave room for desert. The house made Napoleon is a canít miss treat. In order to satisfy Kosher requirements, Marani also has a separate, small dairy section in the basement, where they serve Khachapuri, a cheese-filled bread, and other Georgian dairy delights.
