Marcoís Trattoria was established on April 23rd, 1993. Marco Capanni used to work in high-end retail stores, and his mom, Mama Capanni, worked in the restaurant industry. They decided to join forces and open up a restaurant. Mama was an amateur chef, so they started cooking and opened a little Trattoria in West Hollywood. In June of 2009, they moved across the street to their current location on Santa Monica Boulevard.Marcoís Trattoria’s ëLasagne Bologneseí is immensely popular among both staff and customers, slowly simmered in Mamaís meat sauce, ricotta and mozzarella. The ëSpaghetti and Meatballsí is another customer favorite; spaghetti with homemade meatballs, simmered for hours in their handcrafted tomato sauce. The General Manager, George Mezo, said that people love their ëMac & Cheeseí, ìIt’s not an Italian dish, but it’s very popularî. Marcoís Trattoria does a lot of off-site catering. They do not have the means to actually serve the food, but you can order trays for pickup or delivery.
