Mexitaly Brick Oven Brewhouse is located at 2440 East Market Street in York. The restaurant is the brainchild of owner Greg Skirboll. Greg began working in restaurants in high school, often helping out in his mother’s. A musician and artist at heart, he relishes the sense of autonomy and self reliance owning the restaurant gives him. He is struck by the close relationships heís built with his customers and the community as a whole. Early on he recognized a lack of quality Mexican food in the area. Combine this with the fact heíd been making gourmet pizzas and Italian food for decades and Mexitaly Brick Oven Brewhouse was born. The restaurant has a funky, artsy vibe with original artwork on the walls and great house music. The kitchen is an open concept and diners can watch as their meals are prepared. The atmosphere of the restaurant is fantastic, but the food is the real rockstar. Mexitalyís menu is home to both gourmet brick oven pizza and monster burritos. Popular menu items include: the California Steak Burrito with Southwestern seasoned steak, french fries, cheese, pico, guacamole, and sour cream and The Seafood Burrito with spicy seared chipotle seasoned shrimp and scallops, rice, beans, salsa, sour cream, cheese, and guacamole. Gourmet Pizzas include the signature Mexitaly Pizza with salsa, chorizo, cheese, and beans finished with sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo and the Scampi Pizza, a white pizza with shrimp and scallops, roasted red peppers, and sundried tomatoes. Other Italian delicacies include a classic fettuccine Alfredo and a Grilled Lamb with Parmesan Risotto. Salad entrees include both a Greek Salad and a Caesar. Mexitaly also offers itís own freshly brewed hot sauces on the menu for take home. So if youíve found a handcrafted favorite sauce, you can take it with you to enjoy at home. Their hot sauces clearly illustrate the difference between store bought brands and those that are freshly crafted from prime ingredients. The restaurant has a children’s menu and a full bar as well. Additionally, Mexitaly brews its own beer. They have over forty different styles and have eight rotating on tap at any given time. Greg tells us they stress drinkability in the beers they offer. Many micro breweries make beer heavy with malt and hops, while Mexitaly strays from that space. They prefer to feature beer that doesnít interfere with the taste of their food and is lighter and easy to sip. So if you’re looking for a unique, handcrafted menu and eclectic vibe, visit Mexitaly Brick Oven Brewhouse today!
