Mikonos Grill opened January 2008 and is an award winning Greek restaurant located in the Bay Area of Milpitas, California. This is the third restaurant opened by Owner Joel Quinoes; his brother Elias Ramirez oversees the day to day operations of Mikonos Grill. The fresh flavors and unique tastes of Mikonos keeps locals and travelers alike coming back for me. When Owner Joel and his family immigrated from Greece to the United States, he immediately began working in the restaurant industry as a dishwasher. At a young age, Joel aspired to work his way up the kitchen ranks and learn everything he could about cooking. Joel started as a dishwasher and eventually became the head chef of the restaurant where he met his business partner. In 1988, they opened their first restaurant together in Cambell, Yiasso (meaning, "hello, goodbye, God bless you" in Greek). In 1990, the partners expanded Yiasso to a second location in Cupertino – you can still find and visit all three locations today. Mediterranean cuisine is hard to come by in Milpitas, but thankfully Mikonos Grill provides the area with their amazing food. Mikonos uses the finest ingredients and every dish is homemade from scratch at the restaurant. People all around the world and in the community come to visit Mikonos – here are some of their favorite dishes. Mikonos specializes in Greek sandwiches, which is what you should try when visiting. One of the most popular is the Gyro Plate. On the plate you get a gyro sandwich with fries and your choice of a side salad or soup. The Salmon and Lamb Soulaki Plate are wonderful options as well. All sandwiches are wrapped in a warm and flavorful pita bread. The Lamb Shank is another must try menu item as well. Be sure to order a side of Mikonos famous Greek Fries! These delicious thick cut fries are cooked to perfection with garlic, feta cheese and doused in lemon sauce. People love them and so will you. Beverages on the menu at Mikonos include imported beers and wine from Greece and a nice selection of IPAs. It is recommended to try the Retsina Wine – a well known white wine from Greece, recognized for its distinct pine flavor. There are also soft drinks, iced tea, and Snapple available as well. Whether you are local to the Bay Area or traveling for business or pleasure, be sure to stop by Mikonos Grill, awarded as the Best Middle Eastern Restaurant in Milpitas. The great service and superb cuisine at Mikonos Grill will leave a lasting impression that will keep you hungry for more. Try it and you won’t be disappointed!
