Ed and Stacy Hughes were in the construction business until it came to a halt in 2009. Having previously worked as a bartender, They jumped at the chance to buy Muddy Waters Pub and Restaurant when it became available. The friendly and affable establishment is known as the ìCheers of The Merrimack Valleyî. Ed tells us his favorite part of being in the business is seeing people have a good time. He takes pride in the fact that Muddy Waters offers great pub food, with great service, at a reasonable price.The Marinated Steak Tips have patrons visiting from far and wide. The house made marinade is so fantastic, people constantly ask Ed if heíd sell it by the bottle. People rave that Muddy Waters has the best chicken wings around. The meaty wings are marinated in a soy sauce blend and then deep fried and served with bleu cheese dressing, celery, and carrot sticks. The Classic Burger is 8 ounces of hand packed beef served with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise. The house made pizzas with your choice of toppings are very popular too. Other favorites include a Reuben Sandwich with corned beef, thousand island dressing, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese grilled on rye bread and a Buffalo Tender Wrap with chicken tenders tossed in hot sauce, wrapped with lettuce, tomato, and bleu cheese dressing.There is a great selection of beers on tap and in bottles. Muddy Waters has an extensive wine list and a wide variety of specialty martinis. They offer free pizza at half time of Patriots games, which are shown on the 11 foot television screen. The restaurant is open 7 days a week and features live bands on weekends, open mic night on Wednesdays, and Thursday trivia nights.
