Naked Fish, Waltham MA | Merchant Profile

Naked Fish is located at 455 Totten Pond Road in Waltham. General Manager, Janice Jones, tells us the restaurant was founded in 1999. Janice, who has been at Naked Fish since it opened, shares the story behind the eateryís name. Joey Crugnale, who owns Naked Fish, visited the American Museum of Natural History in New York. He saw a sculpture by Nigerian artist, Sokari Douglas Camp, called ìNaked Fish.î The sculptureís inspiration aided Joey in the formation of the concept behind the restaurant Naked Fish. Janice says the staff at the restaurant is warm, welcoming, and exceptionally professional. She loves working with them. The restaurant holds itself to the highest standards. The scratch made kitchen only uses the finest and freshest ingredients. Fresh fish and produce are delivered daily.A popular starter is the Brazilian Fried Calamari, tossed with blazing peppers and cilantro, with garlic sofrito dipping sauce. Another great choice is the Cold Seafood Plate, with jumbo shrimp, sashimi tuna, mussels, and seafood salad, served with cocktail sauce and sweet soy sauce. Also popular are Lobster Nachos, featuring tomatoes, cherry peppers, vermont cheddar, scallions, and avocado salsa, drizzled with white sherry cheese sauce. A recommended entree is the Swordfish Messina, panko crusted and pan-seared with shallots, balsamic glaze, tomatoes, and kalamata olives. Besides fish, Janice recommends the Tenderloin Tips, juicy and tender, basted with cuban mojo, and accompanied by roasted pepper. Also, the indulgently delicious Cuban Sandwich is a must have. It is a pressed sandwich with roast pork, imported ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and spicy lime mayo. Whatever you order, be sure to leave room for a sinful dessert such as the Peanut Butter Mousse or Boston Cream Pie.  Naked Fish does delivery and carry-out. They have a full bar with many beer choices on tap and bottled. Popular specialty drinks include the Latin Love, a frozen blend of raspberry, pineapple and coconut, laced with banana and coconut rums, and the Flirtini, with Tito’s Vodka, Chambord, and pineapple juice, topped with prosecco.
