New Peking Restaurant is a traditional Chinese eatery that has been family owned and operated since its beginning. The restaurant is run by Shen, his brother Mike, and their parents and first opened in 1983. Originally from China, they moved to Korea and opened a Chinese restaurant there, but then moved to Taiwan and then eventually travelled to the United States. They have been a part of the restaurant industry their whole lives and specialize in serving authentic Mandarin and Szechuan cuisine. New Peking Restaurant serves traditional Chinese food that you would find in China, not Americanized Chinese cuisine. Shen and his family also use less breading and serve lighter, healthier fare to their customers. Some of their house specialties include a Combination Seafood Delight, which is shrimp, squid, scallops, and vegetables stir-fried with house special garlic golden sauce and Spicy Beef Tenderloin, which contains chunks of tenderloin, green pepper, onion, baby corn, and mushrooms stir-fried in a house special spicy brown garlic sauce. New Peking also offers lunch specials and a gluten-free menu for those with dietary restrictions. New Peking serves its food in a family, banquet style so customers can share food between everyone at the table. It is a very traditional way of eating in Asia so it fits New Pekingís authentic atmosphere. The restaurant is decorated with authentic Chinese art and adornments that make customers feel as if they are really in China. The staff is friendly, attentive, and experienced with most employees having worked at New Peking for more than twenty years.
