Piemonte Pizza & Grill is a family owned and operated restaurant with a very unique menu and a very compelling story. John Oner and his wife Faye run Piemonte with the help of two of their sons. John is originally from South Eastern Turkey and reminisces about planting pistachio trees with his father on their family farm in the Kurdish Region of Turkey. It is a farm that he still owns and visits regularly. Before opening at 114 Doyle Ave, in Providence on New Year’s Day 2015, Oner and family successfully operated multiple pizza restaurants in downtown Boston, beginning in 1987. Everything on the menu is made fresh, nothing is frozen. They make dough for the pizza multiple times per day. Many of the herbs come from the plants decorating the interior of the restaurant. Piemonteís interior features seating at long bench tables. The inside is cozy, but can fit a decent number of people. Bar stools line the front window sill, perfect for Providence people watching. There are also a few small tables are on the patio. The Stuffed Grape leafs are fantastic made daily by Faye. Another signature favorite found only at Piemonte is the, ìKurdish Pizza.î Finely ground beef, onions, sundried tomatoes and spices on a thin, firm crust. Piemonte also has more traditional pizza on itís colorful menu. These include the; Margherita Pizza, crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese, fresh basil and extra virgin olive oil. And in homage to the family’s time in Boston, The Fenway Pizza, featuring sweet Italian sausage, peppers, onions, tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. Signature Salads include the; Apple Walnut Salad. With sliced apples, cranberries, walnuts, tomatoes, cucumbers and fresh mozzarella cheese. Also, Mediterranean Salad with crispy falafel and hummus over fresh garden vegetables and the Caprese Salad including fresh mozzarella cheese, greens, tomatoes, fresh basil, balsamic vinegar and extra virgin olive oil.The menu also has a large selections of sandwiches and healthy wraps. There is also a multitude of pasta dishes. Whatever you decide make sure to leave room for one of the tempting homemade desserts including; Chocolate Chip Cannoli, Cheesecake and Tiramisu.
