Franco and Nella Grassano opened Pizzeria Da Nella in April of 2012. Nella is the only female in the United States that is certified as a master pizzaiola. Nella started working in the kitchen back in Naples, Italy, when she was eight years old – she was born and raised in a Neapolitan pizzeria. When Franco and Nella moved to Chicago in 1997, Nella worked for a Neapolitan pizzeria and helped them succeed.
