The idea for Queen City Q all began on a basketball court in South Charlotte with a group of guys who met through social media to organize playing basketball together. After one of the players, Bryan Meredith, had been downsized at his job, he and his wife began investigating new business opportunities. Bryan decided to approach fellow player, Craig Utt, a restaurant marketing entrepreneur, about possible business opportunities. They both discussed their love for BBQ and how there was a lack of quality BBQ restaurants in Charlotte. Three months later Queen City Q opened and has had great success ever since! Three months after opening Charlotte Magazine even named the restaurant Best BBQ in their annual BOB Awards. Queen City Qís menu is full of variety from soups and salads to burgers and sandwiches, quesadillas and tacos to their amazing BBQ entrees! They even have a long list of delicious sides that include mac n cheese, hush puppies, and their famous baked beans to name a few. Queen City Q also offers beer, wine, and mixed drinks at their restaurants! You canít go wrong with any dish or drink because theyíre all made fresh and have amazing flavors. Besides providing the community with award-winning BBQ, they have also helped to boost the local economy and support local charities. Queen City Q has employed over fifty people and gives back by supporting charities like Second Harvest Foodbank of Metrolina and Share Our Strengthís Taste of the Nation; just two of the many charities they contribute to. The restaurant is also a proud partner of the Charlotte Knights, Charlotte Checkers, and Charlotte Hounds. Queen City Q has four different restaurant locations and several additional counter service spots around Charlotte. There are two counters in the Time Warner Cable Arena, two counters at the BB&T Ball Field, one in the Bojangles Coliseum, and they have a temporary spot at the Wells Fargo Golf Tournament. For the location of their four restaurants be sure to check out their website for all the details! Donít miss out on the best BBQ in town, so make sure to check out Queen City Q the next time youíre in North Carolina ñ you wonít be disappointed!
