Mark and Stacy Marchionni own Revolution Taproom and Grill in the up and coming neighborhood of Rochester, New Hampshire. Revolution fills a niche the area was lacking and Mark and Stacy are glad to own a business in an area that is growing. Mark and Stacy have both worked in the restaurant industry since they were teenagers. Stacy worked as a busser and a waitress before working her way up to managing at a fine dining restaurant. Mark grew up in Philadelphia and worked in restaurants all over the city. He says he loves the idea of a place where good beer and good food go together. To him ìa good bar should feel like a fresh, clean pair of your old favorite blue jeans.î His goal for Revolution was to open a bar that is interesting and casual and has a welcoming vibe. The restaurant is a gastropub with itís theme being revolutions. It primarily honors the American Revolution, because of its roots in the East Coast, but the theme encompasses revolutions in general. Stacy says she loves the amazing customers and that they were able to provide them with something unique. Revolution Taproom and Grill specializes in rustic New England cuisine with a flair. They serve bar comfort foods with an upscale twist that adds a sense of elegance and sophistication to the menu. Everything is made in house and from scratch, with ingredients from local suppliers. The menu was developed by Mark, Stacy, and their chef, Dale Raymond. It changes 3-4 times a year to provide seasonal dishes. They have both large and small plates, and offer half portions of large entrees, so people can get the dining experience they are seeking. True to the gastropub style, they use a lot of ingredients in unique ways that arenít typical to your average restaurant. Mark recommends the Roasted Brussel Sprouts, which are slightly caramelized and covered in bacon stout marmalade. Even the biggest opposers of brussel sprouts will like these. Another popular dish is the Crispy Cauliflower Wings, with chorizo seasoning and pesto sour cream. They also make their own pickles and serve amazing fried pickle spears with spicy buttermilk. There are 40 beers on tap at Revolution Taproom and Grill; 38 drafts are craft beers and 7-10 are local. They provide a list of their current tap options on their website. They also have a full bar with their own specialty cocktails, which are named after people and events of the American Revolution. Try the refreshing Hamilton cocktail, which is made with mango vodka, fresh lemon, and soda. Enjoy a fun night in lounge room at Revolution Taproom and Grill, which contains a dartboard, pool table, and X-box. The room can also be reserved for groups. They have large televisions so guests can enjoy sporting events. They are open daily, with happy hour specials on weekdays from 3-6. Street and lot parking are available.
