Katy started her career in the restaurant industry by waitressing when she was in high school. By the time she was 19, Katy was performing managerial duties like hiring and scheduling. 27 years ago, Katy managed at Riccardoís Restaurant. That is where she met her husband, Waldo Garcia. Waldo started in the restaurant business when he was 15 years old, and worked his way up from a busboy to a chef. In 2003, Katy and Waldo purchased Riccardoís Restaurant. They still count their blessings every day, thankful they had this opportunity. Over the past 13 years, Katy and Waldo always tried to be proactive and adapt to the external environment. Riccardoís Restaurant has gone through bad economies, road construction and city law changes, but they always find a way to make it work. Riccardoís Restaurant is a family owned and operated place where people can get a good meal for a good price. Katy explained that she has unique employees working for them; Katy wants everyone to be true to who they are as people, as everyone has their own personality. Katy said, ìYou’re not going to get a cookie cutter serverÖ I like that about us and that makes us a little differentî.Riccardoís Restaurant is heavily involved in the community. They try to help out as many different groups as they can, and they always feel the support back. Katy says her customers foster a unique energy – real, genuine people create a feel-good kind of atmosphere. Customers rave about the ëPasta Pescatoraí special; sauteed shrimp, clams, mussels, calamari, and scallops over linguini, with your choice of garlic white wine sauce or a light red sauce. Another popular special is the ëStuffed Pork Chopí; a pork chop stuffed with provolone and prosciutto, breaded and served in a vesuvio sauce. These two dishes have been staples on their special sheet for many years.Every dish is made to order – they do not prepare the sauces in big batches. If you donít see something on the menu that you had before, just ask. If they have the ingredients, they will prepare it for you. Riccardoís Restaurant has endless possibilities when it comes to customizing what you need. Have Riccardoís Restaurant cater your next party! From weddings to fundraising events, Riccardoís Restaurant can accommodate off-site catering for up to 600 guests. Katy and Waldo are very grateful to own Riccardoís Restaurant and hope you feel the love when you come into the building.
