Rockfish Public House is located at 110 North George Street in York. General Manager of the restaurant is classically trained Chef Brandon Hufnagel. Brandon has worked in restaurants since the age of sixteen and has held many different positions in both the front of the house and in the kitchen. He tells us the focus of Rockfish Public House is fresh seafood. The restaurant is only open five day a week because those are the only days fresh seafood is delivered. Rockfish features only the best, wild caught and sustainably harvested seafood from fisheries on the east coast and the Gulf of Mexico. The interior of Rockfish evokes a modern industrial feel. Freshly shucked oysters and clams are served with lemon, house made cocktail sauce and prosecco mignonette. Recent selections include; Standish Shore, from Duxbury, MA, sweet-buttery, plump meats, medium salt. Blue points, historically a crowd favorite, from Connecticut, medium to high salt. And, Chincoteague Salts from Chincoteague, VA, deep slender cup, high salinity. Also, Middleneck Clams from Cherrystone Aquafarms, in Virginia. The RPH Chilled Seafood plate includes; 4 oysters, 4 jumbo gulf shrimp cocktail, 4 middleneck clams and one split cold water lobster tail. Served with lemon, house made cocktail and Florida style mustard sauces. Other favorites are; Fried Shrimp, five butterflied U-15 Jumbo wild caught gulf shrimp breaded, deep fried golden and served with lemon and house made cocktail sauce. Also, Super Clam Strips, large fresh clam strips lightly dusted and flash fried. Served with lemon and house made tartar sauce. Appetizer choices include; Tuna Poke Nachos. Wonton chips topped with wakame seaweed salad and yellowfin tuna poke with yuzu, sesame, ginger and soy sauce then drizzled with sriracha mayo and wasabi dressing. Seafood Nachos Libre, corn tortilla chips topped with white cheddar and smoked gouda cheese sauce, shrimp, scallops, house made salsa, avocado, crab seasoning and scallions. Also, Crab Stuffed Mushrooms, roasted silver dollar mushrooms stuffed with crab imperial mix and smoked gouda cheese. And, Smoked Fish Dip, creamy smoked whitefish dip served with seasoned toast points.
