Eve Gagnon and Cyril Burke were pondering what to name their new Forest Hills restaurant, sitting in what was then just an empty shell of a building. They noticed all the people walking past. Eve explains she saw all these individuals roving around life. Their logo features a foot representing the choices we all make in leaving our footprint on the world. The eclectic theme of Rove is inspired by the diverse mix its creators. The chef is Ecuadorian, Burke is Irish and Gagnon is half Chinese and half French. As one might expect, given the diverse background of its creators, Rove doesnít easily fit into one category of cuisine. It can be described as upscale comfort food celebrating diversity. Starters include; a Braised Beef Bruschetta with Gorgonzola & Caramelized Onions and a Mexican Quesadilla with grilled chicken, oaxaca cheese, avocado, lettuce, sour cream & guajillo chili. There is a nice selection of salads including a Burrata with Prosciutto Pesto Sauce and Roasted Garlic, Pickled Onions & Crostini. The menu features a great selection of burgers. Watch for small plate entrees in the near future. Rove has made a commitment to New York; They plan to feature spirits distilled in the state, as well as highlighting wines from local vineyards and beers from native Empire State breweries. Check out the great signature cocktails including the Backyard, Tequila Gold, Guava, Orange, Pineapple, Simple Syrup, Triple Sec, w/ Raw Sugar Rim or the Follow My Lead, Cucumber Vodka, Ginger Liqueur, Lime Juice, Sparkling Rose.Stop by on the weekends from 11AM to 3PM and sample a fantastic brunch menu.
