When Brian Adams decided he wanted to open a restaurant in Northport, New York, he did a lot of research to learn all he could about the area and its history. At the library and historical society, Brian learned the area was known as the second purchase after Huntington. Three Englishmen traded the land with the Indians for four shirts, two coats, seven quarts of liquor and eleven ounces of powder, hence the name, Seven Quarts Tavern. ìThe deal was very copacetic with the Indians, they were allowed to live and hunt on the land,î explained Brian. Brian opened Seven Quarts Tavern on September 9th, 2015. Brian has been in the restaurant business a long time; his career started in the mid-1980ís as a dishwasher. The stunning two story building is over 100 years old and features tin ceilings, scatter wood walls and a gorgeous fireplace that is used in the cold winter months. Seven Quarts Tavern is an upscale modern American restaurant with a gastropub flair. Everything at Seven Quarts Tavern is made fresh to order. Each delicious Mac & Cheese dish is made separately so it is as fresh as can be. The Short Ribs are a favorite, made with the highest quality meat. Although Seven Quarts Tavern is not a gluten-free kitchen, they do offer many naturally gluten-free items. Seven Quarts Tavern offers only top of the line craft beer.
