Sorrentoís Restaurant located at 449 Ridge Pike in Lafayette Hill is an old school Italian restaurant that was slated to be a pizza joint. Named after the town Sorrento, which overlooks the Bay of Naples in Southern Italy. Daughters of the owners of the restaurant, Patricia and Susan, tell us their father ordered a pizza oven from the well-known Bari Oven Company. In fact there is still a place in the restaurant where the oven was supposed to go. Unfortunately, coinciding with the order, the company’s workers went on a lengthy strike. After two months with no oven, the family was forced to pull out their traditional family recipes and started serving them to diners. As the restaurant’s reputation grew with great reviews, the order for the pizza oven was cancelled. Today Sorrentoís is known for its classic spin on Italian favorites. Sorrentoís food is nothing short of amazing, their sauces are simple and perfect. One of the long-time menu favorites is the Chicken Sorrento, crafted with the marsala wine, a dollop of sauce, and some provolone cheese. Sides include sauteed mushrooms and spinach. Two of the pasta favorites are the Lasagne and Manicotti Stuffed Shell. Almost everything is made in-house from scratch. Sorrentoís uses only the freshest and finest ingredients to make house favorite sauces, bread, and pasta. Sorrentoís Restaurant is BYOB and offers carry out. It is a fine dining experience in a casual and friendly setting. The staff warmly welcomes first time diners and old friends alike. Sorrentoís is a family run restaurant where they put their heart and soul into the food.
