When Pannee Klaprasert came from Thailand, she was planning on looking for a job. One day, she was walking down the sidewalk, saw a restaurant and asked the owner if he would be interested in selling it. He sold it to her and she transformed it into Thai Square. Pannee explained that the first year was really rough because the housing market crashed three months after she opened. Pannee and her sister and chef Leena Sowawattanakul persevered, and eight years later, Thai Square is thriving. Thai Square serves authentic Thai cuisine. Leena grew up cooking with her mom and uses her motherís recipes that are straight from Thailand. Their ëPad Thaií tastes just like it would in Thailand. Customers love the ëTom Yumí, a spicy and sour soup with lemongrass, onions, tomatoes, mushrooms, cilantro, and lime juice. You can order it with chicken, tofu, vegetable or shrimp. Curry fan? Try the ëEvil Jungle Curryí; steamed flat rice noodles in panang curry and peanut sauce with mixed vegetables and your choice of meat. Thai Square has 34 seats in total in their very cute, well-decorated establishment. They are able to host parties of up to 20 people to celebrate special occasions. Since they are right by the train station, many customers order their meal on the train and pick it up on their way home from work. Head to Thai Square to have a taste of delicious authentic Thai food!
