Nestor Zubizarreta and Alberto Alvarez opened The City Fish in December of 2012. They met through Nestorís father, Nestor Zubizarreta Senior, owner and operator of the successful Muchos! Restaurant and Bar. The opportunity came about to start a new concept at this location, and Nestor Sr. had the idea of creating a fish market offering high-end food at low cost. Alberto has over 17 years in that type of cuisine, and it seemed like the perfect fit.The City Fish is famous for their fish and chips, fried prawns, fried oysters, fresh grilled salmon, red snapper, and halibut. This small, fast-casual restaurant had a tough first three months, but once word got out about how great the food and service was, business started booming. Customer service is key at The City Fish.First visit? Order the ëFish & Chipsí, Cod white fish covered in tempura batter, nice and light. They do offer panko style (but tempura is the way to go). For a grilled option, try the ëFresh Salmoní, wild Alaskan salmon served with two sides of your choosing. The ëCrab Cakes Sandwichí is another customer favorite; two fresh crab cake patties on a six-inch French roll topped with lettuce, tomatoes, and tartar sauce. The City Fish serves wine and beer to pair with your meal. The City Fish is dedicated to maintaining consistency in the kitchen and service. With a 4.5 star rating on Yelp with over 400 reviews, their customers surely appreciate it. The City Fish offers the quality of food you would pay double for at any other restaurant. They just opened a second location in Cupertino, and Nestor is excited to share their delicious food with even more people.
