Reminiscent of older times, The Flipside is nothing short of impressive when providing a nostalgic experience with a modern twist. Owners Tim Gibbons and Jason and Libby Scheer have sought to provide a welcoming experience paired with fantastic meals and have done so flawlessly. Having just been around for two years, the restaurant has gained widespread notoriety for being the place to go to just grab a bite or hang out on the weekends for drinks and a social experience. The ambiance is reflective of the 50ís with the powder blue walls, and the experience is more than welcoming and downright fun. The whole concept is menu driven, taking one dish and creating a life of its own with the wide array of options to customize it. Jackís Best Chicken is a dish inspired from Jasonís Grandmother, putting an elevated experience into it. The Sicilian recipe is a smash hit among guests, offering twenty one different options to put a spin on. The Popeye is a popular take on the dish, topped with Sauteed Spinach, Mozzarella, and a Balsamic Drizzle. Another fan favorite, The Scooter, is topped with Tater Tots, Cheese Dip, Avocado, JalapeÒos, Tomatoes, and then drizzled with Wing Sauce. The Memphis is also a top seller, a unique option topped with Barbecue Sauce, Bacon, Cheddar and Pickle. As it can be seen, the options are endless, and the idea that one can come in and fully customize a traditional dish is simply hard to pass on. The appetizers are delicious as well and don’t sacrifice in the flavor department by any means. The Tater Tot Nachos are hands down the most popular, made with Tots, Bacon, Avocado, JalapeÒos, Tomatoes and Green Onion. Pair the delicious drinks with the elevated comfort food, and now The Flipside is offering an upscale experience with an affordable price. The social scene is perfect for grabbing drinks and relaxing on the weekends or after work on a weekday. The restaurant has ten beers on tap, five of them being local, as well as canned options, adhering to that classic ambiance. On Tuesdayís they offer two for one Margaritas, and their brunch offers two for one Bloody Maryís for the weekends. For an immersive, fun experience, stop in on Thursdayís for trivia from 8:00 P.M. to 10:30 P.M. The casual atmosphere is beyond comforting and stopping in is a no brainer while in Nashville. The food is top notch and the drinks are always cold, and will provide a satisfying and memorable experience.
