Tom Keegan identifies himself as a coffee nerd. ìI love coffee, and I love fresh roasted beans,î Tom explained. When Tom retired from the military, he knew he wanted to start his own business. He has a degree in entrepreneurship and wanted to put it to good use. He always knew that coffee would be a big part of what he created, but he was unsure of what his niche would be. In 2012, Tom and his wife were vacationing in Los Angeles when they walked into a board game cafe. Instantly Tom knew he had to open a board game cafe back home. They spent the following four years planning and opened The Game Table Cafe in March of 2016. The Game Table Cafe currently offers 400 board games to play, and Tom is working on increasing that to 600! ìWe are constantly told by customers that we have the best coffee on the West Shore,î said Tom. Freshly roasted from St. Thomas Roasters, The Game Table Cafe offers light roast, medium roast, dark roast, decaf, and espresso. Customers cannot get enough of The Game Table Cafeís speciality coffee drinks. Besides coffee, The Game Table Cafe offers hot and cold sandwiches and a wide array of freshly baked goods, either baked in house or from a local baker. The muffins and cookies are very popular, along with the Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Italian Sub. The Game Table Cafe offers a private party room that gets rented out for many different occasions – from Navy team building to birthday parties. Rent it out for lunch and stay to play some great board games! The Game Table Cafe is a unique place to spend time together with family and friends without using electronic devices – just old fashion fun.
