Chef Chris Johnson and Jason Mood met while working together in the restaurant industry. They decided to start their own venture together and established The Meeting House on December 4th, 2012. Both Chris and Jason lived in the Detroit area their whole lives, and after searching all over for a location, they found the perfect spot in Rochester. Chris believed that Rochester needed a fresh, new restaurant to compliment the long standing, well-established ones. The Meeting Houseís concept is simple: they are a neighborhood restaurant where anyone in the community can feel comfortable. The Meeting House offers something for everyone, whether you are a large family with children or are grabbing a bite to eat after a black-tie event. Jason explained that The Meeting House focuses on the finer points of service and seasonal cooking without being presented as an upscale restaurant, offering a unique dining experience. Justin stated that ìWe pride ourselves in using the highest quality ingredients we can get our hands on.î Quality if of the utmost importance at The Meeting House. Try the ëSteak Fritesí, a 28 dry-aged 14 oz New York strip steak served with hand cut fries and spinach sauteed in their homemade ëZipí sauce. This fantastic dish is effortlessly delicious. The Meeting House marks every gluten-free item right on the menu. Jason said they recognize that a lot of guests have allergies, and The Meeting House wants to make those people feel as comfortable as possible. They donít want you to have to worry about your meal! The Meeting House is about relationships, warm hospitality and great soulful seasonal cooking – a place everyone can enjoy.
