The oldest steakhouse in South Florida, Tropical Acres has gained historic notoriety throughout the years, first opening in 1949 and taking off since then. Owners and siblings Jack Studiale and Carolyn Greenlaw have sought to set the bar high when it comes to quality food and have done so successfully. The effort that they put into providing an inviting, and memorable experience shows with each dish, and their staff puts the customer first. The food comes highly regarded in the area, and rightfully so, the staff makes a conscious effort to go the extra mile for each of their patrons. The steakhouse has been family owned and operated for four generations, and that is precisely the ambiance that is emitted with each meal, familiar and comfortable. Serving quality food at a reasonable price is a priority for Jack and Carolyn, which is hard to pass up. They are well known for their Prime Rib, slow roasted overnight, creating a tender meat that could be cut with a fork. The Porterhouse and bone in Ribeye are large, flavorful cuts that provide for a hearty meal. The dish that is the most popular is their Filet Mignon, coming in six, eight, and ten ounces. Their Broiled Seafood Platter, is also well known, and consists of shrimp, scallops, fillets of fish, and a crabcake. All of their steaks are cooked on an open grill in the dining room for all of their customers to view freely. If the open grill wasn’t enough, Tropical Acres also has a piano player every night to provide for some extra entertainment. Their salads are just as delicious as their steaks and do not sacrifice in the flavor department. The Caprese is worth a try, made with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto on green. To bring the menu full circle, their desserts are made in house and their Key Lime Pie is one of their specialties. Their Cheesecake is also freshly made and is sure not to disappoint.Jack and Carolyn have a team that believes in the restaurant and that is where the steakhouse shines the most. They take pride in the items coming out of the kitchen and have created an atmosphere that is hard to find anywhere else. Pair that with a hard to resist cuisine and reasonable prices, stopping in for dinner is a must. Located at 2500 Griffin Road, the food and service is incomparable and definitely worth a try.
