The Walnut Ave Cafe is located at 106 Walnut Avenue in Santa Cruz. The business was started in 1993. Hector De La Torre began working in the kitchen for the original owner. His partner, Mike Bobadilla joined the staff of the cafe in 2000. In 2014, when the original owner wanted to retire, Hector and Mike teamed up to buy the restaurant. Figuring if it wasnít broken, donít fix it, the new management team has changed very little about the award winning cafe. Walnut Avenue Cafe is known for excellent food and great service. The simple, non-trendy menu, provides good, honest, hearty, and delicious food. It is served by the friendliest staff in Santa Cruz. For breakfast, try the Chilaquiles: three eggs scrambled with tortilla chips, green chilies, olives, tomatoes, onions, and cheese. Another popular choice is the Blackened Ahi Benedict, with blackened ahi tuna, poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce, on an English muffin. Burgers and sandwiches are best sellers. All burgers served in the restaurant are made from 100% all natural fresh Angus ground beef. They weigh in at a full _ pound and are served with your choice of toppings. Popular sandwiches are the Mediterranean Chicken and the Pulled Pork. Walnut Avenue Cafe serves brunch on weekends. They also offer beer and wine, and their own private blend of coffee. If you are looking for a great meal with fantastic customer service, stop in at Walnut Ave Cafe. Hector, Mike, and their friendly staff will welcome you and ensure you have a great dining experience.
