Veteran restaurateur Ahmet Yildirim opened the Willburg Cafe at 623 Grand Street in 2007. The name Willburg is a play on the on the location of the Cafe in Williamsburg. Manager Kathy Peterson tells us the cafe is guided by two principals. First, they make sure they serve only the finest products, and secondly they strive to create a comfortable atmosphere for their guests. Their coffee beans are roasted daily at a local roaster providing a fresh, flavorful taste. They meticulously taste tested multiple coffee brands until they found the perfect one. They use only the finest and freshest ingredients such as Nova Scotia salmon, and Australian goat cheese. Popular breakfast items include; Buttermilk Pancakes served with warm maple syrup and the Willburg Benedict with poached eggs, brie & turkey bacon, topped with hollandaise on an English muffin. Popular burgers include the Egg Burger with egg, pepper jack cheese, mushroom, tomato, turkey ham and the Bacon Cheddar Burger with 2 strips of turkey bacon and NY cheddar. Sides include Avocado, Home Fries and Hand Cut French Fries. Entrees include; Grilled Salmon and Skirt Steak. All the menu items are cooked to order and made from scratch. Willburg Cafe features healthy fresh squeezed juices including; Orange, Apple, Carrot, Cucumber, and Lemonade. Delicious smoothies include the, PB&J with peanut butter, strawberries, almond milk, agave and ice and the Green Go, kale, apple, lemon, banana and Ice. The cafe also features a long list of coffee and tea drinks.
