Patrick Murphy opened Woods Creek Tavern on August 31, 2015 with his business partner David Abraham. Patrick has worked in the restaurant industry for 18 years and worked his way up to owning his own place. He has trained with an Iron Chef Master. His goals for the restaurant were to open a place that was out of the box, but had roots in good American style food. The atmosphere is a mix of fine dining and nightlife. The name Woods Creek Tavern honors the location. The town Lake in the Hills was named after the lake called Woods Creek, so Patrick felt that the name would fit perfectly with their local, non-corporate vibe. Itís the perfect neighborhood tavern, with an upscale menu.Woods Creek Tavern has a scratch kitchen. They make all their own sauces and hand cut their protein. They get their burger meat from local cattle farmers within 250 miles of Chicago, using a company called Chicago 250. To stay as community driven as possible, they use local produce as well. They have a very well rounded menu, so there is something for everyone. Patrick recommends the Chicago Beef Eggroll. It is made with roast beef, giardiniera, and provolone cheese inside a crispy egg roll wrapper. It is the ultimate beer friendly appetizer. Another must have is their cheese and mac made with their homemade eleven cheese sauce. Woods Creek Tavern has a full bar complete with beer, wine, and specialty cocktails. They are open seven days a week, and stay open later on weekends. Check out their Facebook page for some daily food and drink specials. Itís also a great place to watch your favorite Chicago sports team play. Enjoy upscale dining and refreshing craft beers at Woods Creek Tavern!
